The Mask

You only see what I choose to show you.

My face is a mask to hide the pain inside.

If you see a smile, you have no way of knowing if it’s genuine or not.

Know that it isn’t a facade.

Know that it’s a means of protection.

My flawless public appearance hides my private despair.

You don’t care to know.

You don’t care to understand.

You see what you want to see.

You only see what I choose to show you.
